Heflin - Jerry Wayne McElroy Sr., 71, died Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Cancer Treatment Center of America in Newnan, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 10, 2018, at Wise Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Chris Cone and Dr. Steve Dempsey officiating. Burial will follow in Wise Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, December 10, 2018 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Wise Chapel Church. Dryden Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Daughter - Ginger(Paul) Patterson, Gurley, AL
Grand Child - Jordan Patterson, Gurley, AL
Brother - Donnie McElroy
Pallbearers will be, Paul Patterson, Jordan Patterson, Leland Walker, Byron Smith,Craig Walker, T.J. Reynolds, Kyle Reynolds, and Jared Kirby. Honoary Pallbearers will be the retired firemen of Anniston Fire Department and the members of Turkey Heaven Volunteer Fire Department.
Mr McElroy was a native and lifelong resident of Cleburne County. He was retired from the Anniston Fire Department after 22 years of service. Jerry was a member of Wise Chapel Methodist church, a member of Caldwell Masonic Lodge #502, and Scottish Rite Birmingham Chapter for over 50 years. Jerry Wayne and Delane celebrated their fiftieth year of marriage this year.
Jerry was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Wayne McElroy Jr.
