Obituary

Johnson
Heflin - Mr. Cloyse Clayton Johnson, age 82, of Heflin, Alabama, died Monday, December 17, at NHC Nursing Home in Anniston. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson and Ethel Johnson; his brother, Fred Johnson; and his sister, Sarah Jo Johnson. His beloved wife of 64 years, Judy Johnson, also preceded him in death mere hours before his own departure. He is survived by his children, Laura Kay Johnson Pugh, Kim Johnson Mobley (Danny Mobley), Jeffrey Scott Johnson (Pat Johnson), and Kristin Johnson Lloyd (Bo Lloyd); his nephew, Howard Johnson; his grandchildren, Olivia Oster (Nate), Aaron Pugh (Patricia), Clayton Mobley (Rachel), Alex Johnson (Kim), Adam Johnson (Kristen), Hope Lloyd, and Jeff Lloyd; and great-grandchildren, Naomi, Jacob, Caleb, Bethany, and Amos; Jorja, Penni, and Jolie; and Wilkes.
Services will be Friday, December 21, at 2 PM at Dryden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bo Lloyd officiating. Pallbearers include Aaron Pugh, Clayton Mobley, Alex Johnson, Adam Johnson, Jeff Lloyd, and Nate Oster. Visitation will be held at Dryden Funeral Home two hours prior to services from 12 to 2 PM. Burial will follow the funeral services at Green’s Chapel Cemetery in Heflin, Alabama. Dryden Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Cloyse was a loving Christian, family man, and friend to all. His love for the Lord was genuine, and his career as a pastor was a perfect fit, allowing him to uplift everyone he met with his smile and charisma. One of his favorite ways to praise the Lord was through his gift of music. Whether pickin’ with buddies or on his own, playing the guitar brought as much joy to himself as to those around him.
As Judy and Cloyse leave this earth together, we are comforted by our sure faith that they are reunited with their Lord. Today we remember and cherish them both as we say goodbye to them for a while until we see them again in our heavenly home.

I am so saddened to hear of Cloyse' passing. He was a close friend of my husband and I for many years. I know it is hard on the family but know that we will be praying for each of you. God is able to give you the strength you need.
